About The Club

Club History

Kingsteignton Tennis Club was first established in 1995 with assistance from the Sports Council in the form of a lottery grant.

We have three all-weather courts, all of which are floodlit for evening play. A token system is used for the floodlights; these tokens can be purchased for £1 each from the local shop in Rydon Acres. Each token gives 20 minutes of light.

We have changing and toilet facilities in our club hut and have a safe spectator seating area immediately adjacent to court 1.

The best way to see what the facilities are like is to come along to one of our friendly club sessions, either on Monday evenings or Saturday afternoons.

Club Member Sessions

Two club sessions are held during the week. These friendly sessions are available for all members and give the opportunity to play against players with a variety of different skill levels. The times of the sessions are:

Saturday afternoons: 2 pm - 4 pm

Monday evenings: 7.00 pm - 9.00 pm

How to find us

Kingsteignton Tennis Club is situated just off of Rydon Road in the heart of Kingsteignton. Courts are accessed from a short footpath directly opposite Rydon Primary School and just to the side of the Old Rydon Inn.

From Exeter: Take the A380 Torquay road and leave at the first Kingsteignton turnoff. Follow this road until you reach Brook Way on your left-hand side (Immediately before the Ten Tors Public House). Turn into Brook Way and follow this road, which then continues, into Rydon Road. You will then cross two mini roundabouts before the road dips. At the bottom of the dip you will see the Old Rydon Inn on your right-hand side and slightly further on Rydon Primary School on your left. The path to the courts will be found on the right-hand side of the road.

From Torquay: Take the A380 Exeter Road and continue past Penn Inn roundabout (Newton Abbot) towards Exeter. Take the 2nd turning on the left for Kingsteignton (Eagle Farm). Turn left at the bottom of this road, which will then bring you out next to the Ten Tors Public House. Turn left again into Brook Way and follow this road, which then continues, into Rydon Road. Directions are then as above (from Exeter).
